Overview
Mark your calendars, Master Guides! Keeping the Spirit 2027 is happening February 19 to 21 at Lone Star Ranch in Athens, TX, and it's shaping up to be one of our best camporees yet. This year's theme dives into the life of David, from his anointing to his fall and restoration, and every event ties back to that journey.
Registration and Costs
There are three ways to join camp:
Regular Tier: Early $45 / Regular $55 / Late $75
Survival Tier: $30 flat (shirt only available with early registration)
Glamping Tier: Add $60 to registration for Early $105 / Regular $115 / Late $135. Spots are first come, first served, rooms are shared by gender, and each camper needs to bring their own twin size bedding.
Registration windows:
Early: Opens September 1st and closes December 1
Regular: December 2 through January 15
Late: January 16 through February 10 (patch not guaranteed)
Registration will open September 1st at hbamg.com. Ticket resales and changes close January 31.
The Events
Evangelism Award: Bring a non Adventist visitor and complete a prayer week before camp for bonus points. This year's honor focus is "David: A Heart for God."
The King's Camp: Build a tribe of Israel style entrance at your campsite, judged both day and night.
The King's Table: A hands on lashing challenge. Build a fully functional table and two benches from scratch, right there at camp.
Create in Me: A science fair style display connected to Psalm 51, using only recycled materials to show what it looks like when God makes something broken new.
The King's March: Two parts. Fancy Drill Nov 7., then on Finals on Saturday, plus the blindfolded King's Drill Down where members follow commands purely by ear.
Mercy in the Dark: A nighttime adventure through checkpoints, compasses, fire building, and a lake crossing, all while keeping a flame alive.
Kingdom Restored: A five stage relay with biking, first aid, lashings, and a raft crossing, capping off the weekend with teamwork under pressure.
Every event awards points toward first, second, and third place trophies, and every club earns points just for participating.
